Common questions

Straight answers, no insurance jargon.

Everything most families ask before choosing coverage.

What's the difference between final expense and mortgage protection?+

Final expense is a small whole life policy ($5k–$50k) meant to cover funeral and end-of-life costs. It lasts your whole life and never expires as long as premiums are paid. Mortgage protection is a larger term policy designed to pay off your home if you pass away during the term — typically matching the years left on your mortgage.

Do I need a medical exam?+

For most final expense policies, no — approval is based on a few simple health questions. For mortgage protection, some carriers require a brief exam, but many offer fully no-exam options up to $500,000 or more.

How much does coverage cost?+

Premiums depend on your age, health, tobacco use, and coverage amount. A 55-year-old non-smoker can often get $10,000 in final expense coverage for $22–$32/month. A 35-year-old can often get $250,000 in 30-year mortgage protection for around $25–$40/month.

What if I have health issues?+

We work with carriers that specialize in clients with diabetes, heart conditions, COPD, cancer history, and more. There are also guaranteed-acceptance options for ages 50–80 with no health questions at all.

How fast does my family get the money?+

Most claims are paid within 7–14 business days of submitting a death certificate. The benefit is paid tax-free, directly to your named beneficiary.

Are you a captive agent?+

No. Tikvah Advisors is an independent brokerage. We shop A+ rated carriers on your behalf to find the lowest rate you qualify for. You'll never be pressured into a single company's product.

Are you licensed in my state?+

We're currently licensed in Florida (License #G200405). If you're outside Florida, give us a call — we may be able to connect you with a licensed partner.

Will I get a bunch of robocalls?+

No. Your information goes to one licensed agent at Tikvah Advisors. We don't sell or resell leads, ever.
